heres a bit of a post about black wedge shoes. as a bit of a tall person myself, i rarely ever ever ever never wear heels in public (emphasis on the public, at home, i'm pyjama queen of the high heels) yet for f0rM@L - yum, i'm talking about it again - i'm braving black wedges. i know that theres a lot of mixed opinion on them (thanks to ms. laurenzi for sneaking up behind me during study/blog time and say "gross, they are so ugly"), but here goes:

gross, i hate being excited for formal, but despite what everyone says about being overrated, which i no doubt think it will be, let me be excited. mostly i'm just excited to see everyone dressed up - it'll be radical

speaking of radical - or not so radical depending on your point of view - this may very well end up being my formal outfit:

not intentionally, just slooowwwlly, one by one, things have gone together to form something very similar to above. personally i have absolutely no problem with this, except for the fact of the tacky white trainers, but the rest bares a likeness to my khaki fringed embroided poncho dress, my many random pieces of jewellery and my woven pouch bag.

hopefully though, standing alone in a dry desert with nothing but mountain peaks in the horizon will not be on the agenda for my evening on the water - but who knows ..

i'm not a hat person, in no way whatsoever. i like hats, some hats, not really a fan of fedoras but everytime i try on a hat, it just doesn't sit right. perhaps because i don't have a fringe, and it just makes my forehead look like it's taking over the world, one badly fitted hat at a time.

next weekend i'm setting out a couple of hours (more like thirty really) to find an old, preferably cheap, leather jacket, tearing it, smashing it, dragging it behind the car, doing a little dance on it, slap it with good ol' sand paper, and just generally ripping it apart before adding some of that lovely red indian fabric, probably another forty or so hours just to find the fabric, but it'll be worth it:

according to my calculations, there should be roughly twenty-eight days, fifteen hours, forty-one minutes and thirty-eight seconds til year ten leaves for camp, give or take.
in my ideal world, camp would be more like this, where you just wakeup and look effortlessly beautiful, go talk to the wildlife for a while, throw some loose clothes on, showing off your naturally tanned legs with a couple of scratches here and there which somehow look like they're meant to be there, oh look i've got a twig in my hair, oh no, it makes me look like the goddess from the forest, how sad, i've got a bit of dirt on my face, oh no i look like mother nature's hot daughter:
