dream catch me

just an addition to my long list of things to do these coming holidays:

make a dream catcher, or five

  1. Gather your hoop and supplies.
  2. Wrap the suede evenly around the entire ring. Wrap it either eight or sixteen times, depending upon your preference. Glue the ends to the hoop. Secure them with a clothespin until the glue dries.
  3. Make the web. Tie the nylon string to the suede. Make eight knots evenly dispersed around the ring. Keep the thread taunt between knots.
  4. Make a second row. Place each knot "between" the knots of the previous row.
  5. Continue in this manner until a small hole remains in the center. Tie a final double knot.
  6. Add a tiny drop of glue to secure each knot in place.
  7. Make two ornaments. Thread a few pony beads over a small piece of suede. Tie one end into a knot and tie the other end onto the dreamcatcher. Place them on either side of the hoop about two-thirds down from the top. Push a few feathers inside the bottom of the beads and add glue to secure them in place.
  8. Thread a few pony beads over "another" small piece of suede. Tie each end of the suede into a knot. Fold the suede in half, so that the beads are hanging. Attach the fold near the top of the web. Glue a sea shell over the fold. Glue a few feathers on each side of the sea shell.
  9. Thread a small piece of suede, through the top of the dreamcatcher, to create a strap for hanging.
  10. Hang the dreamcatcher in your window. With the first rays of sunlight, all bad thoughts should disperse. Only good thoughts will be entering your mind for the day.

i'd like you to take a moment to read about flo, and how dearly i love her.
i don't really know who i'm addressing this to apart from flo, seeing as she's the only one who reads this stupid blog .. but thats besides the point

Someone once told me they thought it was creepy how my best friends and I said “I love you” to each other often. I told them: I think when you love someone; you can’t help but sound at least a little creepy. Love is love. No matter if it’s for your Mom, your cat, a boy, or your best friend. And when you are lucky enough to have people to love, and be loved, you need to let them know how thankful you are for that, and how much you love them back...
The love I am referring to is the love you have for a best friend. It’s unique and so important to have. It’s more than just affection for someone; it’s a deep underlying connection. The comfort of knowing you can tell them everything, and not have worry about being judged. The first person you tell when something exciting happens, or when something scary happens. The person you turn to when you need to vent. The person you can laugh at because they will just laugh back at you. The person you need to tell things to so your brain doesn’t explode. The person who can make you feel better when you’re having a tough day, the one you turn to for advice. . The person you can have full conversations with by merely exchanging glances. And maybe most importantly, the one you tell all your secrets to, especially boy secrets.

flo, i don't really think you understand how much i adore you, everything about you, even your moody temper (she's going to kill me for saying this) which i have learnt to just laugh at. even when we disagree, i know that at the end of the day, everything will be alright, because it always is

i'm not a big fan of the term 'best friend' - doesn't it just seem a bit cheesy?
how about twin, sister, brotha-from-anotha-motha, soul mate
(with our future coninciding lives, this sounds about right) ..

yours always and forever (talk about cheesy .),

je envie de burberry

for anybody who's been dying for mary-kate olsen's wedge suede burberry shoes, just not with the $789US pricetag, these nine west jurra boots for $99US are perfecto
(top burberry, bottom nine west)

to do;

  • first and foremost, find a formal dress. needs to be floaty but short, preferably not a bright colour, not tight at the bottom, definetly not strapless, needs to be comfortable, think stevie nicksish, gypsy dress, perhaps with a bit of fringe or embroidery, beads are never a bad idea
  • then find shoes and a bag and jewellery to go with the dress, this is the fun part. but heels/no heels. considering i'm 5ft10, heels are probably unneccessary, but i feel like they just complete the look. heels must be wedges as they don't look ridiculous like stilletos on 15 year olds, plus they're easier to walk in. got my eye on some black wittner wedges
  • paint some more during the holidays. my painting may not be especcially attractive and it took me rougly four hours to complete, but the process was fun and i'm getting more and more inspired by things everyday, my mind is buzzing with things to paint, so lets put some paint to canvas
  • study study study during the holidays .. mostly art and francaise and english
  • get a job at the fish shop, inspired by sophie harris. not only does the smell of fish shops quite appeal to me, but there's convieniently 3 fish shops within a kilometre of me. it's meant to be ..
  • buy some new clothes. i now own five hawaii/tourist shirts, and this tacky/fabulous trend needs to be stopped
  • get a new scarf. later explanation will follow
  • blog blog blog
  • find some new music, been listening the the same fleetwood mac/david bowie/mgmt/modest mouse/bat for lashes mix for the past two months

things behind the sun

i want to go to a party dressed as a moon, in full moon gear.

"they say i made the moon, everything was in the dark, no memories at all, just the tiny freezing wind in my back, and i was sitting there singing a song i had never heard before, suddenly a voice told me, keep on singing little boy, and raise your arms to the big black sky, raise your arms the highest you can, so the whole universe will glow"
